This first Friday, there’s a lot to watch out for. The lively Oakland art scene always offers at least four or five art shows worth checking out. But this Friday, it’s the Illuminated Corridor that’s generating a lot of excitement.

This first Friday, there’s a lot to watch out for. The lively Oakland art scene always offers at least four or five art shows worth checking out. But this Friday, it’s the Illuminated Corridor that’s generating a lot of excitement.
 
If you get to Kahn’s Alley sometime between 7 p.m. and 10 p.m., you’ll see how it looks when art, live music, and film collide. Suki O’Kane, the artist who’s been screening films on Oakland’s walls for years, will coordinate the show. She’s chosen three film pieces that will play on the south wall of the Rotunda Building in downtown Oakland along with live music. (See: Illuminating Oakland)

After seeing this, head down the street to the Great Wall, the precursor to the Illuminated Corridor, on Grand Avenue, between Broadway and Telegraph, where you can see short experimental films on a 100 ft by 100 ft screen all evening.
